Let me ask you something. Have you ever heard great things about a game, about how it got so many good reviews, won countless awards, and how your friend thought it was the best game he has ever played? You hear so many great things about it that eventually you break down, rush to the store and buy it. The anticipation grabs hold as you drive those five miles home, making the drive seem endless. Once there you tear off the plastic coating, rip open the case and throw the game into your console. Your thumbs vibrate on the control sticks as you watch the game load. The opening cinematics play, you fight the urge to skip them but they only increase your excitement to play the game. Finally throw yourself into the game. An hour passes and you come to a horrible realization... This game SUCKS! Excitement turns to rage as reality slowly sinks in. “Why did this game get so many awards? How did reviewers like this game? My friend is unbelievably stupid.” These thoughts only fueled more by the emptiness of your wallet.
This has happened to me many times, and every time the emotions become stronger. It is for these exact reasons that Steve and I decided to create Video Huevos. We wanted a way to talk about how we think games really compare to their reviews. We used our science backgrounds to formulate a rating system that aims to be objective, attempting not to fall into the trap that so many fanboys set.
These stories aside, there are so many games out there that leave our thumbs blistered and damaged as we play into the waking hours of the morning. Nothing is better for soothing the wounds of a night well spent than a good breakfast, another reason www.videohuevos.com was created.
Dedication:
This site is dedicated to anyone who stands in line to buy games at midnight. It’s dedicated to anyone who has read this blog while hungover. To anyone who considers bacon to be a food group. To anyone who has ever drank more than one BFC in a night. To anyone who eats 24 hr Mexican food at three in the morning. To anyone who loves Four Loko or Everclear. It’s dedicated to anyone who has ever stayed up all night playing video games and then gotten breakfast in the morning. Thank you for reading our blog.

Hey all, my name’s Ryan, and I love video games. Over the years I progressed through the various video game stages: Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Xbox, Wii, Xbox 360, etc. My current favorite console is, without a doubt, the Xbox 360. I love the games it has, the online Xbox Live community and, last but not least, the layout of the controller and the way it feels in your hands as your are blowing the living crap out of things.
My Gamertag is Entr0p1k. In order to understand why I picked it you must first know a little bit about me. I’m currently a student at UCCS studying Human Biology following the premed course and hope to soon be attending medical school. I’ve always had a huge fascination with science, whether it be Biology, Chemistry or Physics. Early in my high school career I was studying enthalpy and entropy in Chemistry and I found the idea of entropy to be incredibly interesting. My teacher explained that entropy was the level of chaos and disorder in an enclosed system and that as time goes on the universe naturally becomes more and more entropic. Inevitable chaos. The idea of the universe seemed both morbid and profound, so much so, that it became my Gamertag. Haha.
What kind of a gamer am I? Well, when I get into a game, I GET INTO A GAME. I have always been a huge completionist when I find a game that I love. I’ve been known to do several playthroughs back-to-back in order to get the most out of a game. I’m also the type of gamer who is never satisfied with my current skill level, and constantly looks for new ways to better my gameplay; whether it be through technique, or general strategy.
When it all comes down to it, I love video games, and that’s why I’m here.

My name is Steve. I’m a mechanical engineering student at UCCS in Colorado Springs. During the week I am pretty busy with schoolwork, but on the weekends I love to party and play video games with my friends.
The first video game console I ever owned was the Xbox 360, and it is by far my favorite. I also love the PS3, but I can’t stand the Wii or Kinect. Before I was a console gamer I played the PC for many years. I loved real time strategy games, such as Command and Conquer, Age of Empires, Starcraft, Warcraft etc. I also loved first person shooter games and arcade racing games. I currently do not have an adequate gaming PC. For the past few years, I have been playing pretty much exclusively first person shooter games on the Xbox 360, as well as Forza 3. (its a racing sim)
My Xbox 360 Gamertag is ShakenBabyZ28. I’m pretty spastic when I play shooter games and I love the games that offer nonstop, fast-paced action. Shaken baby just seemed to fit my play style. I’m also a passionate car enthusiast and I drive a Camaro Z28, so I decided to incorporate Z28 into my gamer tag.
Video games are definitely one of my favorite hobbies. I tend to favor the multiplayer gameplay modes, but I do love a well crafted campaign mode with a good plot.
If you were wondering why we created this blog, it’s pretty simple. After an all night video game marathon, followed by an epic breakfast, my friend Ryan and I had the idea to create a blog combining breakfast and video games. We sat on this idea for a while, but finally decided to make it happen. Since then, it has grown beyond its initial concept. We still plan on focusing on these two areas, and we figure there has to be many college students (and others) out there who love to do the same thing on the weekends. We hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as we enjoy making it. Thanks for reading, and please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions.
